Small Dung Beetle,Ball and Fallen Rider

Small Dung beetle,ball and rider

Neither scale nor species is weighted in Katydom all are equal and coexist peacefully.

The smaller dung beetle obviously has a smaller dung ball which is used by humanoids to mount their beetle so they can compete as a duo in the annual insect race. It takes dexterity and many tumble trying to master the art of staying on the dung beetle’s thorax and abdomen. Appropriately this sculpture is named Fallen Rider.

Finished in a combination of hot and cold patinas; Green thorax and head, dark bronze body and satin brushed ball
